Can I cook fish straight from frozen?
Often yes. Fillets and prawns take well to cooking from frozen with a little extra time, or thaw overnight in the fridge. The cook-from-frozen guide in our journal walks through both routes.
Is frozen fish a good choice?
Freezing holds a fish at the condition it went in. For pies, curries and breaded fillets it is a practical choice, and some lines such as prawns are almost always frozen at source.
How long does frozen seafood keep?
Follow the date on the pack and keep it frozen until you need it. Once thawed, treat it as fresh and do not refreeze raw.
