From The Sea has had a fish counter in Barnes since 1972, which makes it a working local shop for this stretch of the river instead of a national site shipping from a distribution unit. Twickenham fills up on match days at the stadium, and a large order for a crowd is straightforward to prepare when someone is cutting it by hand: a dressed crab, a platter or a tray of prawns, ready to put on a table.

Order online or call the shop. Order by 1pm and we cut, wrap and pack the same day for next-day delivery to Twickenham. Delivery is free on orders over £60, and under that the rate appears at checkout. Free local delivery covers Barnes and the neighbouring villages, so if you are on the Richmond side of Twickenham it is worth calling to ask.

Barnes is a short drive from Twickenham over Richmond Bridge and along the Lower Richmond Road. Order ahead and collect the same day, usually ready in about two hours. The counter is at 18 Barnes High Street, SW13 9LW, open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm, with a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a fishmonger in Twickenham? As far as we know there is no wet fish counter trading in TW1 at the moment. We deliver to Twickenham from our counter in Barnes, four miles along the river, and you can collect there the same day if you prefer.
When do I need to order by? 1pm. Orders placed by 1pm are cut and packed that day for next-day delivery. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm.
Can you prepare shellfish for a party? Yes. We dress crab, build seafood platters and prepare prawns and oysters for serving. Tell us the number of people and when you need it, and we will size it for you.
What does preparation cost? Nothing. Filleting, skinning and pin-boning are free, and so is gutting and scaling a whole fish. You pay for the fish by weight.
