Fresh fish delivery in Hammersmith
Fresh fish, delivered to Hammersmith
Hammersmith is the closest side of the river to us. Our counter sits at 18 Barnes High Street, a walk from the southern end of Hammersmith Bridge, and we deliver fresh fish across W6 cut to order by hand. Whether you are in Brackenbury Village, off King Street, near Ravenscourt Park or down on the Lower Mall, you have a working fish counter almost directly opposite you.
The other end of Hammersmith Bridge
Hammersmith Bridge lands in Barnes, and our shop is a few minutes from the far side of it. The bridge has been shut to motor traffic since 2019 and reopened to people on foot and on bikes in 2025, which has made the crossing quieter and, for anyone walking or cycling, faster than driving round by Chiswick Bridge. From The Sea has had a fish counter in Barnes since 1972, so W6 households have a genuinely local fishmonger, close enough to walk to on a Saturday morning and ask what is good.
What we deliver
Whatever is good on the counter, cut the way you want it.
- White fish: cod, haddock, sea bass, halibut, hake and Dover sole.
- Oily fish: salmon, sea trout and mackerel.
- Shellfish: oysters, scallops, prawns, crab and mussels.
- Fine to eat raw: cuts we are happy to see served raw or lightly cured.
Cut to order
Tell us how you want each fish and we will fillet, skin and pin-bone it by hand at no charge, then cut a portion to the weight you need. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Serving something raw or cured? Ask and we will point you at the cuts we are happy to see eaten that way and trim them accordingly.
